Aarushi is a passionate student that has been a part of the STEM Leadership Institute for six years. Through SLI, Aarushi has grown in both academics and soft skills essential in the workforce. She has taken advantage of her opportunities, including participating + winning awards in Tech Challenge, Project Invent, and FTC. Her passion for business + cognitive science has grown as a result of SLI and her extracurricular activities. Over the past summer, Aarushi interned as a mental/moral psychology research assistant at the UCSC under the mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students and professors.

 

In addition to doing research, Aarushi is an active member of the SCHS community. She has played volleyball for the past four years and is involved in many clubs. She is currently the co-president of Best Buddies, the VP of Psychology Club, and the Treasurer of Red Cross Club. Through these activities, she has learned how to be an effective leader and a collaborative team member.

 

Additionally, as co-founder of TinyHacks, a non-profit with a mission to foster design-thinking mindsets and problem-solving skills, Aarushi aims to bring CS opportunities to underrepresented youth populations.
