Kind, Diligent, Motivated

"The most personal is the most creative."

Gina is very optimistic and determined. She is the youngest winner of the largest hackathon in the world and has been interviewed by ABC, CBS, and others for her work in tech and society. Gina is also the founder of Notes for Support, an organization that has sent letters to over 11,000 COVID-19 patients and healthcare workers across 160 hospitals in 40 states.

Additionally, she is the president and founder of SC Hack Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that hosts weekly CS workshops for high school students. Outside of her work with technology, Gina plays club soccer for SC Lions FC (NorCal State Cup Gold Finalists 2019) and runs on the varsity track team. She also tutors students on Friday afternoons and enjoys weekly movie nights with her family.

In the future, Gina hopes to have a fun and meaningful career, spend a year in Seoul, South Korea, and win the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest at least once.

The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (49ers SLI) provides multi-year, year-round academic support, STEM enrichment, skills training, and leadership opportunities to students in middle and high school. Students, who are with the program for six years from 7th through 12th grade, commit annually to 300+ hours of program learning time in addition to their typical school hours. By cultivating student mastery in STEM subjects and in key skill areas, the program prepares students for college and empowers them to pursue their passions; so that they may become the well-rounded leaders of the future. The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute is made possible by the strong partnership between Silicon Valley Education Foundation, 49ers Foundation, Chevron, and the Santa Clara Unified School District.
