Now in his last year with the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (SLI), Hawk A. has shown an interest and passion for science from a very young age. Through his six years in SLI, he has gained essential STEM knowledge and soft skills in addition to access to technologies that are not available to the average student in Santa Clara Unified School District. Hawk enjoys robotics, working in teams, and biology. He has competed in FIRST robotics competitions for the last 5 years. These experiences have allowed him to learn about the several different fields of STEM and eventually lead to him consider a very specific career path. After graduating from high school, Hawk hopes to major in Biology and eventually to become an orthodontist.
