Diligent, Disciplined, Confident

"99 percent of the things you worry about happening will not happen, be confident."

- Kim Lo

As a part of the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (SLI), Isaac has been working on his STEM based skills and knowledge for the past several years. He competed in his first robotics competition when he was a 7th grader and has been pursuing this passion ever since. His experience in robotics has formed him into a promising engineer with creativity and an ability to lead a team. Isaac's pursuit to better himself has led him to attend local community college math, science, and business courses that are not offered at his high school. With an interest in giving back to his community, Isaac is a math peer tutor at his high school, and is involved in a locally based non-profit organization that focuses on providing education to underprivileged youth in China. In his spare time, Isaac enjoys expressing himself through drawing, practicing martial arts, designing mechanisms, and playing badminton.

The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (49ers SLI) provides multi-year, year-round academic support, STEM enrichment, skills training, and leadership opportunities to students in middle and high school. Students, who are with the program for six years from 7th through 12th grade, commit annually to 300+ hours of program learning time in addition to their typical school hours. By cultivating student mastery in STEM subjects and in key skill areas, the program prepares students for college and empowers them to pursue their passions; so that they may become the well-rounded leaders of the future. The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute is made possible by the strong partnership between Silicon Valley Education Foundation, 49ers Foundation, Chevron, and the Santa Clara Unified School District.
