KYLIE C.

Honest, Loud, Passionate

"Cling to joy. Audacious, unbridled joy, that looks for light in everything. Even while you're waiting."

-Morgan Harper Nichols

BIOGRAPHY

Now in her 6th year in the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (SLI), Kylie takes pride in her Santa Clara roots; she's stayed heavily involved in school through academics and student government. In her time at Santa Clara High School, she's served as Sophomore Class Representative and Junior Class Vice President; she is now currently serving as Creative Media Coordinator.

With school activities as an extra hobby, Kylie's true passion lies thousands of miles away in the heart of the Philippines. In partnership with Kids International Ministries, she returns to Manila twice a year to contribute to the effort of breaking the cycle of poverty. At home, she volunteers at her church as a Sunday school teacher and summer camp counselor. Kylie enjoys spending time with family, adventuring with friends, and traveling. She longs to pursue a career that allows her to give hope and help to those in need.

AWARDS & PROJECTS

The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (49ers SLI) provides multi-year, year-round academic support, STEM enrichment, skills training, and leadership opportunities to students in middle and high school. Students, who are with the program for six years from 7th through 12th grade, commit annually to 300+ hours of program learning time in addition to their typical school hours. By cultivating student mastery in STEM subjects and in key skill areas, the program prepares students for college and empowers them to pursue their passions; so that they may become the well-rounded leaders of the future. The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute is made possible by the strong partnership between Silicon Valley Education Foundation, 49ers Foundation, Chevron, and the Santa Clara Unified School District.
