Original, Driven, Reliable

"Open yourself to the truth, then trust in your natural responses, and everything will fall into place."

A passionate and dedicated student, Marjorie appreciates the many opportunities and experiences that she's had during her six years in the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute. Through various competitions such as ExploraVision, Tech Challenge, and FIRST Tech Challenge, she has learned ways to collaborate with diverse groups and balance her personal life with demanding workloads. Passion drives her to confidently share ideas, utilize her talents and skills, and showcase projects to groups of people.
Outside of her academic life, Marjorie has played for the school’s tennis team since sophomore year, participating in Doubles 1 and Singles 4. Her experience in the courts has also honed her skills as a team player. She is also known for her creativity in the arts such as collage making, drawing, painting, and design, all of which have taught her how to focus and to be attentive to details. Marjorie had also participated in a Filipino American Student Association club also known as FASA since her freshman year. She enjoys sharing her culture by performing dances like tinikling during club fairs and serving food like lumpia.

The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (49ers SLI) provides multi-year, year-round academic support, STEM enrichment, skills training, and leadership opportunities to students in middle and high school. Students, who are with the program for six years from 7th through 12th grade, commit annually to 300+ hours of program learning time in addition to their typical school hours. By cultivating student mastery in STEM subjects and in key skill areas, the program prepares students for college and empowers them to pursue their passions; so that they may become the well-rounded leaders of the future. The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute is made possible by the strong partnership between Silicon Valley Education Foundation, 49ers Foundation, Chevron, and the Santa Clara Unified School District.
