BIOGRAPHY

Sri G. is an innovative student who strives for excellence both in and out of school. He has thrived in the classroom by being an AP Scholar with distinction. Within the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (SLI), he has challenged himself and taken on new experiences, including participating in FIRST Tech Challenge and Maker Faire for two years. Through these experiences, he explored his passion for technology and hopes to use this passion to help those in need one day.

Outside of SLI, Sri strives to help his community by volunteering at the VA Hospital and participates in an internship with the Canary Center at Stanford for Cancer Research. Through these pursuits, and the training he has received from the Learning By Giving courses offered through SLI, Sri has discovered a passion for helping in areas of need.

AWARDS & PROJECTS

The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (49ers SLI) provides multi-year, year-round academic support, STEM enrichment, skills training, and leadership opportunities to students in middle and high school. Students, who are with the program for six years from 7th through 12th grade, commit annually to 300+ hours of program learning time in addition to their typical school hours. By cultivating student mastery in STEM subjects and in key skill areas, the program prepares students for college and empowers them to pursue their passions; so that they may become the well-rounded leaders of the future. The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute is made possible by the strong partnership between Silicon Valley Education Foundation, 49ers Foundation, Chevron, and the Santa Clara Unified School District.
