BIOGRAPHY

Zuri Spencer is a passionate and driven student dedicated to engineering, robotics, and mentorship. As a longtime member of the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute, she has been a part of many hands-on projects and competitions. She has competed in FIRST Tech Challenge, where she gained experience designing and building robots for competition.
She also participated in the COSMOS Summer Program at UC San Diego, where she explored 3D modeling, programming finite state machines, and video processing. Additionally, she designed a water filtration system during an SCU engineering program, combining sustainability with innovation.
Beyond these projects, Zuri is committed to empowering others. She co-founded Project Girls Communicate and a Toastmasters Gavel Club, providing young girls with opportunities to develop confidence, public speaking, and communication skills. She also mentors elementary and middle school students in FIRST Lego League robotics, helping them design, build, and present their work.
At school, Zuri co-founded her high school’s Hiking Club to bring students together through hikes and outdoor volunteering. She is also a varsity volleyball player and enjoys creative outlets such as painting, sewing, and upcycling clothes.
Zuri looks forward to applying her skills in engineering and robotics to create meaningful impact in the future.
