Sanju has been a passionate member of the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute for the past six years. Her experience in SLI has shaped her into a curious and motivated individual.

As a founding member of Team Re-Act, Sanju is a fixture at district events and local elementary schools, where she advocates for sustainability-focused education. She is also a member of FTC Team Taro, where she explores her creativity and ingenuity through designing and building a robot. Her experience in FTC has built upon her love for space exploration to create a passion for aerospace engineering.

Along with SLI, Sanju is active within many other organizations on campus. As the president of Santa Clara Sister Cities and UNICEF, and a violinist in the string orchestra, she has learned how to become a better leader and learner through building vital relationships with her peers.

Outside of school, Sanju is is an active volunteer at Inclusive World, an organization that helps differently abled teens hone their life skills. She is also a competitive jump-roper and violinist in a local youth symphony. Sanju is always listening to music and enjoys reading, folding origami, and challenging the computer in chess.
The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (49ers SLI) provides multi-year, year-round academic support, STEM enrichment, skills training, and leadership opportunities to students in middle and high school. Students, who are with the program for six years from 7th through 12th grade, commit annually to 300+ hours of program learning time in addition to their typical school hours. By cultivating student mastery in STEM subjects and in key skill areas, the program prepares students for college and empowers them to pursue their passions; so that they may become the well-rounded leaders of the future. The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute is made possible by the strong partnership between Silicon Valley Education Foundation, 49ers Foundation, Chevron, and the Santa Clara Unified School District.
